Mayor-Elect Bowser Kicks-Off Transition Committee, Publishes Transition Plan
WASHINGTON, D.C. – During an energetic kick-off event today at the Kellogg Conference Center at Gallaudet University, Mayor-Elect Muriel Bowser tasked the Transition Committee with identifying the best people and the best ideas to deliver a fresh start for all 8 wards.

“The goal of the Transition Committee is to recruit the best people to serve the residents of Washington, D.C. and to implement the best ideas for a fresh start that will move the District forward,” said Mayor-Elect Bowser. “The hours will be long, the work hard, and the challenges great. But, this work—if done right—will lay a strong foundation for the next four years and guide the D.C. government on a path to making the District greater than it already is for all Washingtonians.”

The work of the Transition Committee will be delegated to eight subcommittees, or Priority Committees, focused on the following topics:  Affordable Housing; Arts & the Creative Economy; Economic Development & Jobs; Education; Health, Human Services & Homelessness; Open & Good Government and Full Democracy; Public Safety; and Transportation, Environment, Sustainability & Infrastructure.

Further information about the Transition Committee, the eight Priority Committees, and biographical information about each of the Co-Chairs can be found in the Transition Committee Plan, which is available at here.

Individuals who are interested in joining the Bowser Administration and delivering a fresh start to District residents should visit www.wearewashingtondc.org.
