As the Transition Office receives questions from DC residents, we will post the most frequently asked questions on this page.

Q:

Does the transition team accept paper applications?

A:

No. All applications and application attachments for staff and management positions must be submitted through our on-line recruitment process, at www.wearewashingtondc.org.

Where do I apply?

A:

In order to apply for executive and excepted service positions in the Bowser Administration, please apply using the application link at www.wearewashingtondc.org

Q:

Why can't I apply for a specific job?

A:

Applicants will be considered for a variety of positions, but we ask that you be as specific as possible when filling out all required fields in the application.

Q:

Why can't I find the job that I want to apply for?

A:

We have not listed all available openings. Please let us know about your interests, experience and why you want to work for the Bowser Administration. This will better facilitate our conversation in finding the best opportunity for you.

When choosing which option to select in the “Position” box, use the following as a guide:

Agency Director

Directs, administers, and coordinates the operations of one of the agencies or departments within the Executive branch of the DC government in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the Mayor. Agencies range in size from 3 to over 1000 people.

Deputy Director

Supports the Agency Director, and is responsible for directing, administering, and coordinating the operations of one of the agencies or departments within the Executive branch of the DC government in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the Mayor. Typically leads part of an agency.

Senior Management

Includes members of the agency director’s senior team, including communications directors and program managers.

 

Mid-Level Management

Carries out the plans and processes of the agency directors’ senior team. Duties include daily oversight of agency staff.

Q:

Can I apply for more than one job at a time?

A:

Yes, however a separate application needs to be submitted for each individual position for which you wish to apply.

Be sure to review your information before submitting each application as not all of your information carries over from one application to the next.

Q:

Do I have to fill out all portions of the application if I attach a resume?

A:

Yes. In order to receive full consideration you need to completely fill out each section of the application, even if you attach a resume.

A:
