Muriel Bowser (D) won the mayor’s race by sweeping the District’s eastern half from top to bottom, turning predominantly black precincts that she lost in the April primary into her stronghold. Her 55 percent was the lowest for a mayor in four decades, but still far ahead of all opponents.
